Hyper Backup allows you to back up MariaDB from your Synology NAS to a USB hard drive, the cloud, or via WebDAV, for example.
To do this, select the backup destination in the Data Backup Wizard.
In the next step, select the data you want to back up:
Please ensure that the "MariaDB" application is selected. The database files are not available via Explorer or the DSM interface.
All database data is integrated directly into the application and must therefore be backed up in this way.
For critical systems, it is also advisable to create an HA cluster with two Synology NAS devices. This provides additional protection against the risk of failure. The software for this is provided free of charge by Synology.
